CBC’s “The Nature Of Things”

WBB RELEASE – 2008/001

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Jan. 14, 2008

WINNIPEG, MB – Legendary Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver MILT STEGALL will be featured in an upcoming episode of CBC TV’s THE NATURE OF THINGS WITH DAVID SUZUKI.

Stegall, the CFL’s all-time touchdown leader, will be featured in part two of a special four-part Nature of Things series entitled the Science of the Senses that will be broadcast THURSDAY, JAN. 17 at 8 p.m.

The episode, entitled The Science of Sense: Touch, celebrates the secret language of our first sense—the one that connects us in profound and mysterious ways to each other and to the sensational world around us.

In Touch, viewers will take a journey through the skin, into the subcutaneous world of our sensory receptors and up into the brain as we explore the hidden language of our most essential sense.

Along the way they will visit Stegall, the self-proclaimed Turtle-Man, who shares tips on the secret of his success and demonstrates the power of another secret – a hidden aspect of touch that gets him where he wants to go. Viewers will also get to meet Ian Waterman, a man who has lost his sense of touch and developed some amazing strategies to compensate for his loss.

The Science of the Senses is co-produced by Merit Motion Pictures and CBC’s The Nature of Things. Recently Merit Motion Pictures presented the world premiere of Sabrina’s Law on Global Currents (a co-production with Lank/Beach Productions) and their Gemini award-winning series Recreating Eden premiered its fifth season on Vision TV on Jan. 7, 2008.
